  1.9 is too kind. As a Congleton resident that has been out of this consistently pleasant town for 2 years plus now, I was severely and honestly disappointed by my experience. I was enjoying my time here for bordering 2 hours despite my sobriety. At approximately 3:00am my experience took a sudden and uncomfortable decline. I had excused myself to the entirely accessible and encouraged smoking area for a brief satisfaction of an electronic cigarette due to being told I 'should probably do that outside' (after previously being told it was fine to use an e-cig indoors). I was then forcefully removed from not only the designated smoking area but also the entire venue; for apparently accessing a prohibited area. When challenged I asked the notably young and arrogant 'bouncer' why I was being removed, and he claimed I was 'taking the piss' by ignoring signs that were apparently supposed to alert encouraged-inebriated customers that the area was suddenly off-limits (yet still entirely accessible). I was then forcibly removed despite no resistance and gifted with the final remark of "mate, try to get back in and i'll 'lay you out''" before the obviously inexperienced staff member quickly retreated after pushing me towards the far more accommodating door staff.
  
  If my review can't dissuade newcomers from entering, I at least hope a review of young power-mad staff will take place. As somebody who works prominently in the bar industry, I was severely disappointed with the 'regime'-like attitude of the venue staff and left with a sour taste of the town I used to call home in general.
  My only regret is not resisting, otherwise I'm positive I would have had enough video evidence for the court case that would see this establishment finally face the reality check it has always needed.
